The factory Furillen is a hotel on Gotland. The factory Furillen is located in a former workshop building for a limestone quarry on the island of Furillen, where the mining was abandoned in the 1970s. The photographer Johan Hellström used the latter the abandoned factory area and the island as a place for, among other things, commercials and rock videos. He bought the factory area and other land on the island in 1999 to gradually expand space rental and later hotel and restaurant operations. After reconstruction, a minimalist design hotel has been set up in the workshop building with Scandinavian art industry products in collaboration with the architect Andreas Forsberg, related to designers and companies like Mattias Ljunggren, Mats Theselius and Orrefors.
